IT Support Services

OCD’s IT support service, run from our Glasgow HQ, is proactive (reducing the risk of outages by 80%). We keep your IT systems maintained and working – we don’t sit around waiting for things to break.

We offer you a wide range of IT support options to match your exact needs from fairly basic cover, to our ever popular Virtual IT department or a bespoke combination of IT solutions designed around you.

Our Virtual IT department supports Erskine-based Bridgewater Housing Association’s systems.  That means scheduled visits; planned IT maintenance routines; constant server monitoring and updating of servers with relevant, tried and tested software.  All by a team of experts assigned to do just that.

Bridgewater doesn’t have a dedicated in-house IT team, but it does have complex IT systems.  Any unplanned downtime could have a major impact on how well tenants are cared for.

As a result, Bridgewater needs its IT support to be proactive as well as reactive. “Since OCD has been running the Virtual IT Department for us, we don’t have big problems anymore. Now, if we do have to call OCD for IT support, it’s for small things, which proves that the systems are being looked after properly,” says Bridgewater finance manager Pamela Milne.

Glasgow-based charity SCIAF is another happy client.  Ann Karlin says: “We know that our IT systems are maintained and we know what will need to be replaced or upgraded in advance. OCD makes it all easy. Nearly every fault is resolved in less than half the time allowed in the IT service agreement.”

Glasgow-based Print company SPD relies completely on its IT systems to keep the presses rolling.  With a 24 hour production schedule, a traditional reactive approach to IT support just wouldn’t work.

“It’s really simple. If our IT system fails we can’t print and we lose money and customers,” says managing director Scott Winter.

OCD provide SPD with an entirely proactive approach including constant IT maintenance and IT support to ensure no elements of the systems are at risk or failing. With over 30 PCs/MACs and the normal collection of Microsoft servers and applications, as well as specialist print management software, SPD’s is not a trivial IT environment.

At OCD, we are also poised to deal with total meltdown. We advised the Business Insurance Bureau (BIB) based in Glasgow that its network server was effectively at the end of its life and to think about replacing it. Facing tough financial choices, BIB chose to delay.

When the server crashed, BIB, like all companies which rely heavily on IT, faced the prospect of its business grinding to a halt.

That is, until OCD’s IT Support service stepped in and, as BIB principal Bob Hannah puts it, “helped us avoid disaster”. OCD transferred all data from the old server to a new one and got BIB back to full operating strength within three hours.

“When I knew the server had failed I didn’t worry about it or loose any sleep – I knew OCD’s IT Support department would take care of us,” says Bob.

Our reputation for IT Support is something we are extremely proud of and our customers value what we do for their businesses.  If you need your IT solutions to work so that you can stay focused on your business, then come and speak to us about our IT Support services, which are run from our Glasgow HQ covering Scotland and the North of England, or contact us here.
